What is the purpose of this site? The purpose of this site is to be the place where I “show my work” as it pertains to the translation and interpretation of the text of Scripture. It’s a place to display the inner workings of translation and exegesis. For me, it serves as a place to document my work. For you, perhaps, by the grace of God, you may be able to glean something fruitful for your walk with Christ.
At times, this will progress in a verse-by-verse fashion, sometimes working all the way through a chapter or book of the Bible. Other times, I will simply take a section of Scripture and work through it using a consistent and reformed hermeneutic.
My hope is that this site will prove to be a blessing to the church, in some way.
You are able to find more background information by visiting the about page. For information regarding the sources used to research proper translation, please see the primary sources page. This site is the primary means of documenting my 2024 goal of providing a detailed translation of a verse per week. Originally, the goal was a verse per day. Unfortunately, that has proven to be a bit too adventurous, given the amount of time this project takes along with my other obligations. Therefore, the volume will be slightly less than originally anticipated. Perhaps that will also make it sustainable beyond 2024, we shall see.
